So we’ve had 2 near catchings of pygmy hippos in our pit traps this week. Frustrating and heartening all at the same time! The first time the trap monitor arrived at the trap early in the morning and actually ran into 3 pygmy hippos on the trail. The hippo track runs across a village trail. So it’s like we’re getting closer yet no hippo yet.
